A method for supporting customized idle screens and a server system for the same are provided to offer an idle screen suited to the taste of a user and to enable the user to reuse existing idle screens conveniently in the case of purchasing a new mobile terminal. The user of a mobile terminal accesses a server which comprises one or more idle screen programs and a plurality of contents(S200). If the user selects desired contents and a desired idle screen program, the server configures at least one idle screen on the basis of the selected contents and the selected idle screen program(S210). If the user requests the server to download data to install the configured idle screen in his mobile terminal(S220), the server transmits the data to the mobile terminal(S230,S240). |
