<p>The palette, designed to have a reduced weight compared with others for the same load, has an upper load bearing surface formed by longitudinal planks supported across sheet metal supports at right angles to them. A further set of e.g. three planks parallel to the upper set, forms a base. The metal supports can be flat bottomed, with sloping sides terminating in out-turned flanges, the bottoms and flanges enabling them to be attached to the upper and lower planks. These supports also include a rectangular opening near each end for insertion of lifting forks.</p> |
