The rotary jack which can be used in the automatic flying control system of an aircraft. This rotary jack has all its components fitted inside a single housing. The housing of the jack is split into two parts (3, 12), with flanged joining surfaces (15, 16), so that they can be bolted together and adjusted with shims (14). This separation into two housings reduces the cost of manufacture enabling the device to be used in industrial applications. It also facilitates the adaptation of the device for use in manually controlled aircraft.
