A system and a method for drying food waste are provided to save energy as much as about 70% compared to drying using thermal energy, and recycle food waste into feedstuff by drying food waste at low temperatures, thereby preventing destruction of nutrients of organic matters contained in food waste. A food waste drying system comprises a mixer for mixing food waste with a water absorbent, a cultivation tank for fermenting a mixture transferred from the mixer, and a dryer(150) for drying a fermented mixture transferred from the cultivation tank, wherein the dryer has a plurality of conveyors(145) vertically mounted on an inner part thereof, a dry air feeder(151) is mounted on the dryer to feed dry air into the dryer, the dry air feeder includes a blower(153), a dehumidifier(155), a branch pipe(157) extending to the lower side of the conveyors in the dryer, belts(147) of the conveyors have holes(149) with a diameter of 0.01 to 0.1 mm uniformly formed thereon, an odor remover(161) is mounted on the dryer to remove odor generated from the dryer, and the odor remover includes a photocatalytic filter(163) or metal catalytic filter for odor removal, an ultraviolet lamp(165) installed on a side part of the photocatalytic filter for odor removal, a blower, and a cooler(167). |
