An apparatus for opening/closing a front panel of an air conditioner is provided to reduce malfunction of the front panel by opening/closing the front panel through a sliding scheme. An apparatus for opening/closing a front panel(120) of an air conditioner comprises a sliding transfer part(130) provided at the front panel. The front panel covers a specific part or the entire part of a front surface of a body(110). The sliding transfer part allows the front panel to move in a lateral direction of body. The slide transfer part includes a first rail member(132) formed on the body, a second rail member(134) formed on the front panel, a first roller member(136) for guiding the second rail member, and a second roller member(138) which is guided by the first rail member.
