PURPOSE:To obtain a heating element for printing that can prevent uneven printing and can print with a high definition resolving power and with electric power saved, by providing on or under a first heating body layer a second heating body layer in such a manner that the heating body layers as a whole are projected from or flushed with the upper surfaces of both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When the heating element for printing is produced by vapor deposition, spattering, photolithography, or the like, the second heating body layers 12, 22 are arranged on or under the first heating body layer 11, 21 located between the electrodes 4, 4 such that the heating bodies 5 as a whole are projected from or flushed with the upper surfaces of both the electrodes 4, 4. It is preferred to form the ends of the second heating body layer 12, 22 to have an angle theta such that the inequality wherein (t) represents a thickness of the second heating body layer in mum is satisfied. It is preferred to employ for the heating body layers 11, 12, 21, 22 tantalum-alumina cermet by which a higher resistance can be obtained and the resistivity is easily controlled even in a case of a thick film, and to form the layers by masked spattering. |
