To save raw materials, the weight of the tubes is reduced by the production of very thin-walled tubes. This is achieved by means of the vertically adjustable roller pairs in the apparatus and by drawing the strips used through a calibrating (sizing) die. The special vertically oval profiling of the slotted tube in the apparatus ensures that a very strong tube shape is obtained.
