The cylinder lock possesses displaceable one-part blocking members (12) which are arranged in the cylinder (1) and which, in the locking position with the key (3) withdrawn, are pushed under spring force (16) into catch depressions (10) on the lock case (5) and which retain the cylinder (1) non-rotatably. When the key (3) is being inserted, the blocking members (12) are retracted from the catch depressions (10) in order to release the cylinder (1); however, where keys of low authority grades are concerned, one blocking member (12) remains (partially) pushed out or is (partially) pushed out. This blocking member (12) cooperates with a widened depression (11) on the lock case (5) in order to limit the rotatability of the cylinder (1). <IMAGE>
