An anode active material for a lithium secondary battery is provided to realize excellent electroconductivity, thereby improving high rate discharge characteristics to a battery. An anode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprises: a core material comprising inorganic particles capable of reacting with lithium reversibly to form a compound; and a surface treatment layer formed on the core material, wherein the surface treatment layer comprises a metal having an electroconductivity of 10^3 S/cm or higher. The metal is selected from the group consisting of Sn, Si, Ti, Ge, Pb, Bi, Sb and Ga. |
