FIELD: chemistry; technological processes. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention concerns method of hydrogen to carbon ratio determination in liquid fraction of pyrolysis process, where a given amount of raw hydrocarbon material containing given amount of labeled gas, some amount of carbon in raw hydrocarbon material and some amount of hydrogen in raw hydrocarbon material, is charged to pyrolytic furnace operating in pyrolytic cracking mode for obtaining pyrolysis product containing liquid fraction and gas fraction, and the liquid fraction contains hydrogen and carbon to obtain hydrogen to carbon ratio in the liquid fraction, and the gas fraction features some labeled gas concentration, some hydrogen and some carbon content. The method involves the following stages: (a) defining hydrogen and carbon content in the raw hydrocarbon material; (b) defining hydrogen and carbon content in the gas fraction by defining labeled gas concentration in the gas fraction, use of defined labeled gas concentration in gas fraction for defining the pyrolysis product part which forms the gas fraction, and thus using defined pyrolysis product part of gas fraction in defining hydrogen and carbon content in the gas fraction; and (c) defining hydrogen to carbon ratio in the gas fraction by subtraction of defined hydrogen content in the gas fraction from given hydrogen content in the raw hydrocarbon material to define hydrogen content in the liquid fraction, subtraction of defined carbon content in the gas fraction from given carbon content in the raw hydrocarbon material to define carbon content in the liquid fraction, and calculation of hydrogen to carbon ratio in the liquid fraction.
