#CMT# #/CMT# The extractor has an extractor body (3) including an air flow opening (9) and two shutters (5) for guiding airflow at an inlet of the opening. The shutters are respectively fixed at two opposed edges (11a, 11b) of the extractor body by a flexible zone, and cover a sound-insulating layer (7) e.g. foam or felt. The shutters are folded on the opening of the extractor body so that the extractor is in a folded position. The shutters extend orthogonally at a median plane of the opening so that the extractor is in an unfolded position. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for unfolding an air extractor comprising an extractor body and shutters. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Air extractor for evacuating air in a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The shutters are folded on the air flow opening of the extractor body so that extractor is in folded position, thus protecting the sound insulating layer while avoiding the extractor from being damaged due to bad manipulations, and providing compact to the extractor, and reducing encumbrance. The shutters extend orthogonally at the median plane of the opening so that the extractor is in the unfolded position, so that the air is guided between the shutters to flow towards the opening so as to permit the shutter to cover the sound insulating layer, thus providing soundproof for the noise generated by the air flow, and hence reducing sound inside a passenger compartment.
