FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention concerns C1-symmetrical biophosphine ligands and respective catalysts and their application in asymmetrical syntheses, including enantioselective hydration of prochiral olefins for production of pharmaceutical compounds, including (S)-(+)-3-(aminomethyl)-5-methylhexane acid known as pregabaline and its structurally related compounds.
