A threaded outer surface of the part (3) and a threaded inner surface of the part (1) form a helical channel receiving balls (4). A threaded inner surface of the part (3) and a threaded outer surface of the part (2) form another helical channel receiving balls (5). The channels are formed such that one of the parts (1, 2) is animated with a rotation movement to drive the part (3) in translation movement causing rotation movement of another one of the parts (1, 2). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a steering assembly comprising a steering column. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Ball screw mechanism for rotatably connecting a hub of a steering wheel to an end of a steering column of a steering assembly (claimed) in a motor vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The mechanism ensures the conversion of the rotation movement into the translation movement or vice versa, without clearance and excessive frictions sensed by a driver while touching the steering wheel, thus improving the driving comfort of the vehicle and ensuring better quality of the steering assembly.
