FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: sealing joint incorporates sealing components one of which contains a circular rectangular-section groove accommodating an elastic round-section O-ring with its volume smaller than that of the circular groove in contact with the said O-ring. The rectangular section groove bottom and the groove counter part have additional circular grooves arranged in symmetry with their walls, their sections representing the segments of an ellipsoid with its larger axis running perpendicular to rectangular groove walls. ^ EFFECT: longer life of sealing joint brought about by reduction in rate of contact strain relaxation. ^ 2 cl, 17 dwg |
