FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of sowing small-seeded crops with small seeding rates, in particular to methods of sowing amaranth. Prior to sowing the amaranth seeds are covered with a coating. The seed coating is composed of mixture of filling material with addition of finely dispersed seed embryos of spring soft wheat of Spektr grade with the ratio of 5:1 and herbicide 2-4D in relation of 0.00001% to the weight of the mixture with filling material and finely dispersed seed embryos. Coating diameter amounts to 51 mm. This allows reducing expenditures of amaranth seeds for sowing and increasing crop yield of amaranth seeds and herbage. Filling material comprises flour paste with zeolite-containing clay and effective microorganisms. ^ EFFECT: reduced expenditures of amaranth seeds for sowing and increasing crop yield of amaranth seeds and herbage. ^ 2 cl, 4 dwg
