The invention relates to a method for growing chufa including stubble ploughing, manure application, fall-ploughing with subsoiling, soil conditioning, a wide-row planting, cultivating the plants, watering and harvesting. Manure application is carried out by means of placement thereof into the lower part of a plough-layer. After early-spring levelling harrowing along and across the plow land in the area of future planting rows deep local and band ripping and shifting of the upper dry soil layer onto the midpoint of row spacings are performed with formation of ridges. Then forming double-level seed and fertilizer beds as segmented pits with the shaped bed-bottom is carried out on the centre of the bands in the staggered order. On the centre of each of said beds at the lower level a fertilizer furrow is formed, on the both sides of which at the upper level those seed furrows are done with corresponding placement of fertilizers and nodules therein. Fertilizing of the plants with cow’s manure is carried out during the vegetation together with watering. After each watering an additional soil hilling on the both sides of plant rows is carried out, shifting the soil from the ridges arranged in the middle of row spacings. Prior to harvesting chiselling is carried out on the sides in each plant band and the above-ground stem part of the plants is mowed. |
