摘要

The invention refers to an improved method for the synthesis of pentahydrated sodium pentaborate NaB 5 O 8 .SH 2 O; the method consists in reacting disodium tetraborate decahydrate (DTBD, Borax) and orthoboric acid (OBA, boric acid). The process is performed in no longer than five days and it does not require fungal strains . It also refers to the product obtained by this method, which is intended to potentiate the immune system in diseases caused by bacteria and viruses; to its pharmaceutical compositions and to its use in the treatment of these diseases.
