PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the image quality of moving picture data from being deteriorated during transmission of still picture data while allowing transmission of still picture data at the same time at arbitrary timing according to an external instruction as needed. SOLUTION: A camera system includes an imaging element 12 that photo-electrically converts an object image formed by a lens section 11, a still picture processing circuit 16 that generates still picture information from the electric signal obtained by the imaging element 12, a DRAM 22 that stores the generated still picture information, a moving picture processing circuit 15 that generates moving picture information from the electric signal obtained by the imaging element 12, a serial interface 21 that communicates information with an information processing device 2 through a data bus, and a CPU 14 that transmits both the generated moving picture information and the still picture information stored in the DRAM 22 in a packet unit periodically to the information processing device 2 through the serial interface 21.
