PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a lookup table having a small data amount. SOLUTION: Representative input points RIG are selected from only an area of maximum luminance Ymax or below which is the distribution area of respective pixels of input image data IGD in the YCbCr color space of input image data IGD. Consequently, the number of representative input points RIG is made smaller than the case when representative points RIG are selected from the entire YCbCr color space of the input image data IGD. Representative output points OIG are obtained by sequentially converting the representative input points RIG according to conversion profiles TFP1 to TFP7, and an LUT is generated in which correspondence relation between the representative input points RIG and representative output points OIG is specified.
