PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which observes an image of an excellent visibility simply. SOLUTION: In a memory 42, a first gradation conversion table T1 for conducting a gradation conversion so as for a visibility to become excellent during observing a LCD 32 from an upper side and a second gradation conversion table T2 for conducting the gradation conversion so as for the visibility to become excellent during observing the LCD 32 from a front are stored. A gradation conversion portion 76 conducts the gradation conversion by using the first gradation conversion table T1 in a photography mode and by using the second gradation conversion table T2 in a reproduction mode. A user is apt to observe the LCD 32 from the upper side during photographing and to observe the LCD 32 from the front during reproducing. The user of the digital camera 10 observes the image of the excellent visibility in each mode of the photography and the reproduction without conducting a troublesome operation.
