PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the content of amosite in a sample, such as building materials, heat insulating materials, and thermal insulating materials into which hornblende-asbestos and calcium are compounded. SOLUTION: This method for determining amosite contained in the sample into which hornblende minerals and calcite are compounded is characterized by solid-liquid-separating the sample after acid treatment, and determining amosite with an X-ray diffraction peak of d=3.1A for solid contents.
