PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance unit for transmitting the driving force of a driving source common to a plurality of driven members while changing, the driving force respectively and to provide a fluid ejector equipped with the maintenance unit. SOLUTION: The maintenance unit provided in a printer having a recording head comprises a first rack section 58 moving along a predetermined direction based on the driving force from a driving source, a reduction gear mechanism being driven as the first rack section 58 moves, a second rack section 50 moving along a predetermined direction when the driving force is transmitted from the first rack section 58 via the reduction gear mechanism while being changed, a cap 53 moving as the second rack section 50 moves, and wiper members 61 and 63 moving along a predetermined direction similarly to the first rack section 58 by receiving the driving force from the driving source without utilizing transmission through the reduction gear mechanism.
