The vehicle has a usable space for transporting a cargo, where the space is supported on two axles (1) with a wheel on a vehicle side under an intermediate layer by two fluid spring units (6). The fluid spring units include fluid pressure sensors. An evaluation unit is used for detection of fluid pressure values and for determination of total mass distribution of the usable space and/or a position of a center of gravity of the usable space. A display unit is provided for displaying a deviation of load distribution from a target distribution. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a motor vehicle.
