<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol type fuel cell securing a sufficient battery output without preventing smooth current utilization in a high current density region, and also securing stability for a long period as a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The direct methanol type fuel cell comprises a first fuel adjusting layer 40, a second fuel adjusting layer 50, and a third fuel adjusting layer 60 provided between an anode catalyst layer 20 and an anode GDL layer 70. The third fuel adjusting layer 60 has a pore smaller than that of the second fuel adjusting layer 50.
