<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease errors in reading of images by an image reading section by reducing the adverse effect of warp, by correcting the direction and position in which the image reading section is opened in relation to an image forming section even if the image reading section warps in the direction in which the image reading section is opened in relation to the image forming section. <P>SOLUTION: Scissors link units 109 and 110 are disposed within a triangular imaginary area (an area surrounded by a chain line a) A surrounded by the ends of the hinges 107 and 108 and a locking mechanism 10.
