<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration of image quality due to the occurrence of image deletion without performing operation to remove discharge products stuck to the image forming surface of an image holding body. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: the image holding body having the image forming surface on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; an electrifying device to electrify the image forming surface of the image holding body; an exposure device to form the electrostatic latent image by performing exposure based on image information to the image forming surface of the image holding body electrified by the electrifying device; an image deletion detection means to detect the occurrence of the image deletion of the electrostatic latent image formed by the exposure device; and an image structure changing means to change structure concerning gradation reproduction or resolution of image information input in the exposure device when the image deletion detection means detects the occurrence of the image deletion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
