<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively melting an Mo-containing steel using a spent Mo-containing catalyst used upon the desulfurization treatment of petroleum. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the method for melting an Mo-containing steel utilizing a spent catalyst, a spent Mo-containing catalyst used upon the desulfurization treatment of petroleum is dissolved into a molten iron, next, the molten iron is subjected to desulfurization treatment, thereafter, the molten iron is charged to a converter, and is subjected to oxygen blowing, and a molten steel containing Mo as an alloy component is melted from the molten iron. Alternatively, it is also possible that, before or after the desulfurization of the molten iron, the molten iron is further subjected to dephosphorization treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
