PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a toner by which a toner having an adequately small mean particle diameter of toner particles, a narrow particle size distribution and superior durability and storage properties can be manufactured, and to provide a toner obtained by this manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the toner comprises a fluid dispersion preparation step of preparing a fluid dispersion, having dispersoid containing a resin material, wax, a colorant and an organic solvent dispersed into an aqueous dispersion medium; a uniting step of uniting a plurality of particles of the dispersoid to form united particles; and a solvent removal step of removing the organic solvent from the united particles. The acid value of the resin liquid is in the range of 5 to 12 mgKOH/g. The mean particle diameter of wax fine particles dispersed in the resin liquid is in the range of 0.8 to 0.30μm. The proportion of wax fine particles, having a particle diameter of not smaller than 0.6μm present as the wax in the resin liquid is not higher than 5 wt.%.
