PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing metal powder, in which the metal powder having desired grain size distribution and average grain diameter can be stably obtained. SOLUTION: In the method for producing metal powder where a molten metal is continuously fed to the surface of a disk rotating at a high speed, and is atomized by centrifugal force, so as to be powdered, in the process where the disk is rotated at a prescribed speed of revolution for obtaining metal powder with the desired average grain diameter, so as to continuously produce the metal powder, on the condition that the speed of revolution of the disk is within the range of±10% of the prescribed speed of revolution, control is performed either the speed of revolution of the disk is lowered in accordance with the lowering of the rate of coarse powder in the obtained metal powder or the speed of revolution of the disk is raised in accordance with the raise of the rate of the coarse powder in the obtained metal powder.
