PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the refractive index, concentration and antibody/antigen reaction of a sample to be measured by utilizing surface plasmon resonance phenomenon. SOLUTION: The sensor probe is equipped with a glass rod 2, the metal reflecting mirror 4 arranged to the first single side surface 2a of the glass rod 2, the metal layer 3 formed to the outer peripheral part in the vicinity of the first single side surface 2a of the glass rod 2, the coating resin layer 5a arranged to the intermediate part of the glass rod 2, to cover the glass rod 2 and the holder 5b arranged on the coating resin layer 5a to grasp the glass rod 2 and characterized in that the refractive index of the glass rod 2 and the refractive index of the coating resin layer 5a is net to n2, n1 is larger n2 and the formula: 0.10<(n1<SP>2</SP>-n2<SP>2</SP>)<SP>1/2</SP><0.80 is formed.
