PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform proper route search according to the position of a following vehicle when a leading vehicle having a navigation device and the following vehicle are separated each other. SOLUTION: The navigation system includes: the navigation device 100 operating in the leading vehicle A and provided with a control means 110, a route search means 120, and a route guidance preparation means 130; and a terminal device 200 operating in the following vehicle B and provided with a current position detection means 220 detecting the current position of the following vehicle. The navigation device 200 includes a route guidance storage means 150. The control means 110 once stores the route guidance in the route guidance storage means 110, transmits to the terminal device 200 the route guidance prepared by the route guidance preparation means 130 when the terminal device 200 in the following vehicle B is within a prescribed distance range, and transmits to the terminal device 200 the guidance route stored in the route guidance storage means 110 according to the position of the terminal device 200 when the terminal device 200 in the following vehicle B is outside the prescribed distance range.
