PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container capable of detecting a consuming condition of liquid, and allowing a detection sensor to be attached thereto or readily detached therefrom without leaking of liquid from the liquid container which is filled with the liquid. SOLUTION: When the liquid container (110) is attached to a liquid container accommodating member (120), it is detected whether or not the liquid is in a liquid containing section (117) by means of the detection sensor (130) provided to the liquid container accommodating member (120). As a result, it is possible to detect a consuming condition of the liquid without providing the sensor (130) to the liquid container (110). In addition, as the detection sensor (130) is provided to the liquid container accommodating member (120), the detection sensor (130) can be readily detached by detaching the container accommodating member (120) from the liquid container (110).
