PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder enabling the easy installation of a paper feed sensor even when the paper feed sensor cannot be installed by a normal method because of the structure of the paper feeder. SOLUTION: Guide members 48 and hook members 50 are formed on a mounting part for the paper feeder. The guide members 48 and the hook members 50 are disposed along the outline of the paper feed sensor 24, and so formed as to extend in the direction different from the direction of the claw part 44 of the paper feed sensor 24. A hook-like part 52 is formed at the end of the hook member 50, and the paper feed sensor 24 is hooked by the hook-like part 52 to suppress the movement of the paper feed sensor in the extending direction of the guide members 48. The paper feed sensor 24 is hooked by the hook member 50 by lowering the height of the hook members 50 more than the height of the guide members 48 and moving the paper feed sensor 24 along the longitudinal direction of the guide members 48.
