PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cup capable of securing a practical height of a rim around a base of the cup while enlarging a ratio of the bore and depth and hardly bringing the finger into contact with a base plate when holding a container by putting the fingertip on the rim around the base; and to obtain an insulated cup by using such the cup. SOLUTION: In the cup 1 made by forming a synthetic resin sheet, the rim 2 around the base is formed at a peripheral edge of a bottom section of the cup, and an approximately flat recessed section 5 is formed on the inside of the rim around the base via an upward inclined section 4. Based on the structure, the container, in which the inside of the rim around the base is recessed and the fingertip hardly touches on the base plate at the time of holding the cup, can be obtained, and further, the insulated container having an insulated effect on a side wall can be obtained if a double container is prepared by mounting an outer cylinder 11 on the cup.
