PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection molding apparatus which can maintain the viscosity of a thermoplastic resin to be injected at a fixed value even if the dwell time of the molten thermoplastic resin fluctuates and can keep the product quality constant. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a material receiving part 2 to which a thermoplastic resin 1 is supplied, an injection means 3 which, in response to feeding of the thermoplastic resin 1 from the material receiving part 2, heats/melts this resin 1 and injects toward a mold 6, and an atmosphere controlling means 4 for controlling the atmosphere inside of the material receiving part 2. The atmosphere controlling means 4 adjusts the atmosphere of the material receiving part 2 so that the thermoplastic resin 1 injected from the injection means 3 may have a predetermined viscosity based on the kind of the thermoplastic resin 1, the dwell time from the feeding of the resin 1 into the injection means 3 until its injection and the heating conditions of the resin 1 in the injection means 3.
