PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver with which even if a video signal by broadcasting deteriorates somewhat, a video based on the video signal is still displayed while generation of noise is suppressed as much as possible. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiving device includes: a receiving component for receiving broadcast waves and extracting the video signal relating to the broadcast; a drive signal generating component for generating a drive signal for displaying the video image on a display on the basis of the video signal; and a comparison component for comparing the quality of the video signal with a prescribed first level. The drive signal generating component is configured to generate the drive signal such that brightness or contrast of the video image is reduced by a certain amount when the quality is lower than the first level.
