PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable coil type linear motor of which a stator is easy to assemble, and is small and light-weight. SOLUTION: The stator 2 is provided with a two divided units 3, each having a first magnet member 8 in which a main magnet 7a and a spacer magnet 7b having different magnetization direction are alternately disposed in the moving direction of a mover 11 on yokes 6a, 6b, 6c made of a ferroelectric material to form a first magnetic air gap g1; a second permanent magnet member 8 in which permanent magnets 10a, 10b are fixed so that different magnetic polarities so as to oppose via a second magnetic air gap g2 on a yoke 9 made of a ferroelectric material; and a non-magnetic frame 4 for encapsulating the first permanent magnet members 5a, 5b, 5c and the second permanent magnet member 8 and made of a metallic material, having specific gravity smaller than that of the yoke. The mover 11 is disposed in the second magnetic air gap g2 and has a uniphase coil 123 and is movably supported also in a direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the mover.
