摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety of a battery pack. SOLUTION: The battery pack 1 is so constructed that the following is implemented: fuses 24, 25 and FETs 12, 13 are placed in series in a charging/discharging path 11 to an assembled battery 14; ordinary anomalies, such as overcharge, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature, are determined by a control IC 18 first, and protective operation is restorably performed by turning off the FETs 12, 13; and when the protective operation loses effect, a double protection IC 23 turns on FET 27 to energize an heating resistor 26 and melts the fuses 24, 25 and unrestorable protective operation is thereby performed. A diode 51 is provided in parallel with the fuses 24, 25 so that it is put in the forward direction at the time of discharging. Thus, even when the fuses 24, 25 are melted, power consumption at a load device 2 is enabled to discharge the electric charges accumulated in the assembled battery 14. Therefore, safety can be remarkably enhanced when the battery pack becomes unusable because of protective operation against, especially, overcharge. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
