PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and easily execute shape steel joining by fastening opposed screw rods of a channel joint fitting formed in a C-shape in an erection joint of a heavy temporary structure with H-shape steel, U-shape steel, L-shape steel, or the like and to easily confirm positive applying of fastening torque by viewing. SOLUTION: This joining method for a joint fitting of the heavy temporary structure uses the joint fitting formed by screwing the screw rod 4 from the outside of at least one of internal facing surfaces 3, 3 of a steel member insertion groove 2 formed in a joint body 1 toward the other internal facing surface 3' via the one internal facing surface 3, providing the other internal facing surface 3' with a receiving implement 6 facing the tip 5 of the screw rod 4 on a common centerline c, and forming an annular cutout part 8 orthogonal to the common centerline c, at the middle part of a head 7 of the screw rod 4 to divide the head 7 into an outer head 7' and an inner head 7". Steel members 9, 9' are held between the tip 5 of the screw rod 4 and the receiving implement 6, and in this state, the outer head 7' is turned to wrench off the cutout part 8.
