PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ejection nozzle from being damaged by suppressing poor conveyance of a recording medium in a fluid ejector provided with a plurality of head units each having a nozzle array of a plurality of ejection nozzles. SOLUTION: Recording heads HD1-HD5 each having an array of ink ejection nozzles are fixed to a cover plate CP thus constituting a head assembly HA. The cover plate CP is provided openings W1-W5 corresponding to respective recording heads and the recording heads HD1-HD5 are fitted in these openings. On the bottom face side of the head assembly HA, the plane of each recording head having the nozzle array is made flush with the bottom face of the cover plate CP. Since the bottom face of the head assembly HA has a smooth surface, intrusion of a sheet into the gap of the head or jamming of the sheet can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
