PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing a dissolved gas which has a high efficiency of removing the dissolved gas and discharges stagnant water in a hollow fiber, and to provide a method for removing the dissolved gas using the apparatus. SOLUTION: A hollow fiber module 15 in which a plurality of hollow fibers 14 are bundled and are then tied up into bundle only in the lower part side by a binding member 13 with each other is arranged in a casing 12. A gas holding part 16 is formed in the upper part of the casing 12, the top end part of the hollow fibers 14 is positioned in the gas holding part 16 and water and gas are fed so that the underside of the top end side is dipped into a liquid to be treated. An inert gas fed from an inert gas introducing opening 12c to the gas holding part 16 flows from the top end side of the hollow fibers 14 to the bottom end side. The dissolved gas in the liquid to be treated is diffused from the pores of the hollow fibers 14 to the inner pores of the hollow fibers 14 to be discharged from the bottom side of the hollow fibers 14 together with the inert gas.
