PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathtub device which can provide a correct massaging effect to a bather's back, especially the shoulder of the bather in a relaxed condition. SOLUTION: The bathtub device has a bathtub, a first advance portion provided in the internal wall of the back side of the bathtub and capable of displacing the surface between a standard condition and an advance condition where the surface advances toward the interior of the bathtub more than in the standard condition, and a second advance portion. In the first advanced portion, two rows of a plurality of steps are provided in the vertical directions of the back side internal wall of the bathtub, and in the second advance portion, steps are arranged outward of the first advance portion provided above that.
