A high-pressure pump unit (13) has a cylinder (38) that includes a high pressure piston (30) that is axially arranged in a high-pressure chamber (32). The piston stays in effective connection with the shaft by a crosshead (24). The crosshead is arranged and formed in the recess such that it forms a low pressure piston of a low pressure pump unit (40a), and a part of the recess forms a low pressure chamber (28a) of the unit (40a) supplied with pressure from the crosshead.
