The damping unit (3) has a cooling device (5) mounted at an external side of a motor vehicle (1). The cooling device comprises cooling fins or Peltier unit. A computer unit (10) and a temperature sensor (12) are assigned to the damping unit. The computer unit is formed to activate the cooling device, when the damping unit reaches a temperature value, and to deactivate the cooling device, when the damping unit falls below another temperature value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling and/or regulating a motor vehicle with a computer (2) a computer program for executing a method for controlling and/or regulating a motor vehicle with a computer (3) an electromagnetic signal or signal sequence with modulated binary data.
