The damping unit (7) has a fountain solution dispensing device (19) bringing a fountain solution zonally into the damping unit in a contactless manner. A roller (22) i.e. damping contact roller, co-operates with a stripping device, which is arranged in a rotational direction of the roller behind a contact point of the roller with an adjacent roller (21). The stripping device is formed as a wiper device, and is arranged in a transport direction of the fountain solution seen behind a nip point.
