The method involves selecting an eyeglass frame, and determining a frame disk angle (FFA). An eyeglass lens type is selected with a front curvature (FLC), and a frame curvature is determined. A lens design is computed using a value for the frame curvature, a value for the frame disk angle and individual characteristic values. The eyeglass lens is used as plus glass including a spherical or aspheric design, which is computationally optimized by the value of the frame curvature. The eyeglass lens is optimized by a prismatic effect.
