摘要 <p>An optical device for picking up images in a plurality of different directions simultaneously by a single image sensor with wide angle of view and high vividness through a simple arrangement employing a prism optical system. In the optical device which employs a prism optical system having three optical planes composed of a medium having a refractive index of 1.3 or above, i.e. a first plane having transmission action, a second plane having internal reflection action and transmission action, and a third plane having transmission action from the object side, wherein the light penetrating the first plane to enter the medium is totally reflected on the second plane and the third plane before penetrating the second plane to exit the medium, at least two prism optical systems (101, 102) are juxtaposed for the imaging plane of a single image sensor (30) such that the images in at least two directions are formed in parallel on the imaging plane of the single image sensor (30), and the reflective surface of at least one of three faces of each prism optical system (101, 102) is constituted of a rotationally asymmetric plane.</p>
