An electronic device and a method for adding contents using the same are provided to solve a problem that in order to add particular music contents to a particular play list, a user should go through menus of several stages. A memory unit(110) stores a plurality of contents and a particular position set to correspond to a particular input signal. A display unit(130) displays the entire contents list or a contents list of a particular category. An input unit(120) selects one or more particular contents from the displayed contents list and generates a corresponding particular input signal. A controller(140) controls to add the selected contents to the particular position set to correspond to the particular input signal.
