<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the deployment completion time of an airbag while ensuring the mounting stability of a garnish member. <P>SOLUTION: The garnish member 10 for a curtain airbag device, attached and fixed from the inside of a cabin to a rail 5 on the side of a roof on the periphery of the opening of a door, is provided with: a cover part 21 covering the airbag 11 from the inside of the cabin; an upper fixing part 23 arranged in the vicinity of the upper end of the cover part 21 and fixed to a vehicle body 6; a lower fixing part 25 arranged in the vicinity of the lower end of the cover part 21 and fixed to the vehicle body 6; and a tear line 27 formed in the vicinity of a boundary between the cover part 21 and the lower fixing part 25. When the airbag 11 is inflated upon collision of a vehicle, the airbag is ruptured along the tear line 27, thereby opens the cover part 21 like a door with the side of the upper fixing part 23 as a turning center, and the airbag 11 to be inflated is deployed toward the inside of the cabin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
