<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser device and an image display unit capable of efficiently releasing heat generated from each stripe shaped active region and performing operation at a low consumption current and a low consumption power. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser element 13 has a plurality of the stripe shaped active regions 12 that radiate a plurality of light beams. A base mount 18 is formed adjacent to a first surface 14 in the vicinity of the plurality of active regions 12. A plurality of wires 16, 21 electrically connected to each of a plurality of stripe shaped laser electrodes 15 of semiconductor laser elements 13 each corresponding to a plurality of the stripe shaped active regions 12 are formed. Electric currents are injected into the active regions 12 from a plurality of connection portions 22a, 22b of each laser electrode 15a, 15b, 15c, 15d of a plurality of laser electrodes 15 and wires 16, 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
